International Women's Day... What Inspires Us

What inspires us on International Women's Day.

Erica is one of the original team members of CWB McLean & Partners and leads the Client Service Associate team in bringing to life exceptional service to our clients.

Today marks International Women’s Day, a global day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It's also a day committed to accelerating gender parity. This day has been observed since the 1900’s, with the first recorded event occurring in 1908, when 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding voting rights, shorter hours, and better pay.

I’ve been with CWB McLean & Partners since it was founded on June 23, 1999. Over the years I have thoroughly enjoyed fostering relationships with our clients and with my teammates. Last Thursday, our team worked together to create our International Women’s Day video (which you can view below). The question we had to answer was, “what inspires you on International Women’s Day”. The input and responses far exceeded my expectations.

As individuals in our firm went up to the board, I didn’t realize how deep some people were willing to dig in answering the question posed. Perhaps I thought that some people would respond more about celebrities or business/political leaders, the result was that most answers were around people in their personal lives – families, friends, or female athletes that paved the way for women to take part in sports. As a result of us creating this video, it strengthened our bond and built a deeper relationship amongst each other.

I am proud to have been a part of this video and to be a part of a firm that is taking a stand in the fight for parity. I hope you enjoy the video, and invite you to join the conversation, and keep it going, on what inspires you on International Women’s Day.

Did you know? The "48% thank you" frame in the video represents the 48% of the females in our firm. Two of our three C-level executives are women.
